Doorways 2 Construction

Why should I study Doorways 2 Construction (D2C)?

There is a high demand for building and construction professionals in Australia as the population continues to grow, and new businesses are created as a result. Not only is there a high salary bracket associated with the building and construction industry, there is the personal satisfaction of completing a major project from the ground up. You could be one of many responsible for helping to build housing for fellow Australians.

Doorways2Construction® is a Vocational Education and Training (VET) program set up by the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board). The program provides senior school students with a construction pathway, integrated within the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

D2C: training at a Certificate I level with a general introduction to construction skills, knowledge, career development, and worksite safety. D2C is recognised in the SACE as Stage 1 credits.

D2C Plus: provides a seamless pathway into a partial Certificate III course. D2C Plus is recognised in the SACE as Stage 2 credits.

Doorways 2 Construction:

  • provides students with accurate information about career opportunities and the tools necessary to successfully seek work in the industry
  • develops basic skills that students can take into the industry

What do other students think about Doorways 2 Construction?

I chose to do this course because I want to get a job in a building trade. I would rather be working outside than inside working at a desk and sitting down all day. I also enjoy working with wood. It is also the best way to get an apprenticeship in the industry.

I chose this course because I would like to know more about trade skills and find something I am interested in. I am looking to obtain a job, if possible, by the end of the year. I am passionate about working with houses and wood.
