Why should I study Cyber Security?

This Stackable VET option will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to manage the technical elements of a network. Students will learn how to create a network operating system and set up and use administrative tools required to manage a network. They will discover how to implement system backups and restore both stand-alone and client server environments while contributing to disaster recovery planning in the event of system failure.

Where does Cyber Security lead?

Upon successful completion of these units, students may wish to work within IT environments with a focus on physical networking, or continue with further study in the Certificate III in Information Technology.

What work will I do in Cyber Security?

Students will complete the following units of competency:

BSBCRT311 – Apply critical thinking skills in a team environment

BSBXCS301 – Protect own personal online profile from cyber security threats

BSBXCS303 – Securely manage personally identifiable information and workplace information

BSBXCS402 – Promote workplace cyber security awareness and best practices

What do other students think about Cyber Security?

The Cyber Security elective has shown me how prone to attack computers are and how it is the responsibility of everyone, especially cyber security experts, to protect data. The curriculum equipped me with practical skills to tackle real-world threats in a variety of situations. The trainer’s expertise and engaging teaching style made every session insightful and enjoyable.
