Coding and Computing Essentials has been designed to lead to further study. You will develop the skills to choose other subjects and courses offered within Information Technology, such as Digital Technologies, Information Processing and Publishing or the Certificate III in Information Technology. All of these options present you with the opportunity to consider further study if you so desire.

Studying Coding and Computing Essentials will give you a grounding in, and a better understanding of, essential applications used across a range of subject areas within the college. You can expect to build you skills in a selection of the following areas:
- Designing documents using Canva
- Creating presentations in PowerPoint
- Collecting and processing data in Excel, Google Forms and MS Forms
- Developing and writing basic design briefs
- Building simple programs using block-coding techniques using DASH robots, Scratch, Python or other suitable software
