Where does Student Leadership and Voice lead?

Student Leadership and Voice ignites leadership potential, equipping Year 11 and Year 12 students with skills invaluable in future careers and tertiary education. Through hands-on projects and real-world scenarios, students will develop essential skills like communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and teamwork. These skills ‘open doors’ to many tertiary pathways, including politics, banking, law, education and business.

The course develops lifelong skills applicable in any career. Students will gain confidence in public speaking, learn to advocate for themselves and others, and develop a deeper understanding of ethical decision-making and social responsibility. These transferable skills will enhance personal and professional growth, setting students up for success in the workforce and in their communities.

What work will I do in Student Leadership and Voice?

This subject is student-directed, meaning you will have a say in the direction of study. However, you can be confident you will be assessed on:

  • Coaching, speaking and mentoring skill-building
  • Leadership training
  • Leading whole-school and/or community projects

What do other students think about Student Leadership and Voice?

I have done a lot of great things at Thebarton Senior College, but the area where I felt I grew the most is in Student Leadership and Voice. It really challenged me to develop and grow, and I made lifelong friends.

Student Leadership and Voice has meant the world to me. I have loved all of the exciting events and things we have achieved. I will remember it forever.
