Vocational Education and Training

Video Transcript

Welcome to Vocational Education and Training at Thebarton Senior College.

Here at the college we offer nationally recognised certificates, short courses and skill clusters. These are designed with industry to deliver workplace skills in a wide range of occupations.

Australia is currently experiencing a skill shortage and 7 out of 10 of the fastest growing jobs require a VET certificate. Our VET courses reflect workforce requirements and train people for industries in the high-demand areas.

Our VET courses are hands-on and teach practical skills rather than just theory, helping students to gain valuable workplace skills while completing their SACE. Some of our courses include work placement, where students can gain further experience in industry and increase their chances of employment. We also support students to seek traineeships and apprenticeships.

If you’re looking for a fulfilling career that combines theory and practical real-life experience give VET a go.

Thebarton Senior College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 40117) accredited to deliver a range of nationally accredited Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses. We also engage other RTOs to offer VET to students both at the college and external sites.

We offer full qualifications at Certificate II and Certificate III levels as well as ‘stackable VET’ options. VET qualifications are designed by industry and provide pathways to further study and employment, including through apprenticeships and traineeships. Stackable VET courses provide students with pre-vocational skills, work preparedness and the opportunity to try VET before committing to a full qualification.

If you wish to enrol in a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course at the college, contact your VET coordinator for information on enrolment processes and requirements. For any other enquiries please contact us at VET@tsc.sa.edu.au.

See our college’s main VET page for more information on our VET courses.
